Shalva Akhrakhadze, CFA

Shalva Akhrakhadze has been a member of the CFA Institute (CFA Charterholder) since 2017. He has over 15 years of managerial and consulting experience in finance across Georgia and international markets. In 2010, he earned an MBA in Finance from the Free University of Tbilisi. Shalva is also a certified Executive Coach. In 2015, he founded Financial Laboratory, which today serves high-profile clients in Georgia, Ukraine, Singapore, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. Before establishing his consulting business, Shalva held senior leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Supervisory Board Member in the banking, insurance, aviation, and distribution sectors. He has led strategic optimization initiatives, risk assessments, and financial management processes. Under his leadership, companies have implemented effective transformations and achieved significant increases in business value. His academic experience includes serving as an Associate Professor at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Visiting Lecturer at the Caucasus School of Business (in the joint MBA program with Grenoble Ecole de Management), Lecturer at the University of Clermont Auvergne in France, as well as guest teaching engagements at other European educational institutions. He has delivered public lectures and training sessions for the EBRD, the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, King’s College London, PwC Academy, TBC Bank Academy, and other platforms. Shalva is the author of Financial Analysis in Practice, published in 2013. He is actively involved in professional associations and international projects, serving as a member of the financial reporting standards setting and interpretation committee of SARAS (since 2019), a member of the international professional network Gentia Alliance, and, since 2021, a finance expert with the global consulting platform Toptal.
